School Holiday Fun at Coola

Holiday programs at Camp Coolamatong are heaps of fun! We have kids coming from nearby towns and local schools to participate in activities at both Farm Camp and Lake Camp. Each time we run it we have new kids participate as well as familiar faces returning for more interaction. It’s exciting that kids who might not get to experience Coolamatong through their school are getting the chance through this program. Kids keep coming back, and we can continue the connection we’ve established.

Over the last eighteen months we’ve been in and out of lockdown, so parents are seeking ways their kids can be active and spend time with other kids within a program they know is run safely and professionally. And the kids love it too. I heard from parents how their kids asked them to please pick them up as late as possible. One kid told their parent that the worst part of the day was that they had to leave!

These holiday programs are also a great opportunity for us to connect children and families with other events that happen at Camp Coolamatong, including Make A Difference camps and summer camps. They help us connect with the community in a different way to school camps. We can see how word of mouth about the positive impact of Coola gets around, leading to even more families and young people experiencing Coola!
