Great Training Experiences and Opportunities

Workshop participants expressing different emotions

SU Victoria’s online training events have attracted participants from across Australia and SU movements around the world. In 2020 we’ve trained SU volunteers, interns, staff and local churches in a variety of topics from leadership to Bible Engagement and storytelling. We have a great team of trainers who share insights and expertise, supporting those who attend. Recently, Phil Day hosted a storytelling workshop via Zoom. Here’s what some participants had to share about it…

The training series by SU Victoria has been very timely, relevant and eye-opening for me as an SU worker in Kenya. Storytelling was attractive because first, as an African, we tell a lot of stories, but also, the Bible is a story of God's mission, love and plan for mankind. I wanted to increase my knowledge in this area to enhance my storytelling skills, and particularly in presenting the Scriptures to children and young people. (Daniel, Kenya)

The storytelling workshop was engaging and insightful. I found it immediately applicable to my context, especially in an age of online church that needs to be half as long and twice as engaging. I really enjoyed the opportunity to fine tune my developing storytelling skills. (Maigen, Melbourne)

The skill of communicating God's truth well to your listeners is as important as the discipline of studying God's Word faithfully. Crafted Bible storytelling invites listeners to feel what the characters felt, open up curious minds and engage with the teaching. (See, Malaysia)

You can join us for our final event for 2020:

Ministry with Families & Equipping Parents – Saturday 14th November - online
Brent Allred (Associate Pastor – Children and Families Ministry and past SU Staff) will help to answer questions like… What does it mean to see children in the context of their families? How can we support and equip parents in the unique role they have in their children’s faith formation and spiritual life?
