From The State Director - December Update

  Monday 14th December, 2020

New Things!

God is doing new things in SU Victoria. The challenges of this year have unlocked missional imagination and resulted in creativity and innovation. Our staff, chaplains and volunteer teams have adapted programs, launched initiatives, and engaged children, young people, families, churches and communities with love, enthusiasm and effectiveness.

Right now is a pivotal time for our movement. More than 700 volunteers are about to travel to communities across Victoria to serve on summer mission and camp teams. Modified programs, online experiences, day trips, community service and local expressions are just some of the activities our teams are planning for summer.

Chaplaincy funding for 2021-22 will soon be released, and we are praying that our chaplains and their schools will receive renewed funding. While this may result some changes, we are already working with our chaplains, schools and local communities to secure ongoing provision of current chaplaincy services.

This month the SU Victoria Board signed the National Transformation Agreement in preparing for the establishment of a National Scripture Union movement in March 2021. National ministry collaborations have been formed and are enabling movements to share resources and expertise to foster mission and improve our ministry systems.

We move forward with a sense of expectancy and we move forward together—prayerfully and with determination. Please join with us in praying that children, young people and families experience God’s love and Good News through SU.

Have a wonderful Christmas, and thanks so much for your Kingdom partnership.
