Schools SU Victoria works with churches and volunteers to operate school groups in both primary and secondary schools. Programs are relational and provide opportunities for children and young people to explore the Christian faith, develop leadership skills and serve the school community.
ELEVATE Schools Ministry Framework
Ministry in Schools has always been a strong focus for SU and in recent years, innovative new models and programs like ‘ELEVATE’ and ‘Inspired4Life’ have been emerging.
SU has identified and evaluated principles from these innovations, developing a new framework for ministry in schools and making it possible to replicate these ministries. We are excited about the potential of this approach, which values every school community as a distinctive place where God is already present and at work.

Praying in the School Zone
SU loves to help people find ways to bless school communities and EVERYONE can be involved. Many Christians give their gifts, time and energies to school communities. With our prayer initiative for schools ministry, YOU too can be part of this work everytime you drive past a school.
Instead of becoming annoyed or impatient, be prompted to Slow Down! and PRAY! each time you see a SCHOOL ZONE sign. Pray for the parents, teachers, workers, principals and children. Pray also for Christians who are already involved there in God’s mission.
‘Pray in the School Zone’ Cards come in packs of 20 and contain:
- A ‘Top Tips’ pamphlet describing a variety of possibilities for use.
- 8 cards with the caption: Seize the moment, pray for this school community.
- 4 cards with the caption: for people to BLESS this school community
- 4 cards with the caption: for God’s kingdom to come in this school community
- 4 cards: blank (write your name or the name of a school on these and hand them around to your prayer supporters)
Each pack costs $4.00 which includes postage if necessary.

Inspired4Life Inspired4Life is a secondary schools ministry currently running in the Western suburbs of Melbourne. It is aimed towards ‘at risk’ young people, and provides a space for young people to explore issues which are affecting them.
The Inspired4Life model is about working out what it is to follow Jesus and helping others to do the same. Discipling young people for the ministry of making disciples of Jesus…
This is done through a process, which seeks to assist students in exploring their life and their struggles in a fun, interactive and proactive way, whilst in a supportive group environment with key adult facilitators. It is not seeking to give answers but to facilitate student discussions and thinking processes, as well as providing encouragement and support in their decision-making and individual responsibility.
The program consists of one class session a week, and also provides an opportunity for students to take part in a yearly camp at Camp Coolamatong or CBAC.
