Volunteer

SU describes itself as a volunteer movement supported by a small number of staff. SU is one giant team made up of people from all walks of life and backgrounds. The one thing that characterises them all is a willingness to serve God’s purposes.

Each year thousands of children, young people and families get to know God better through our camps, missions and/or school programs because of the 800 or so SU Team Members who enlist every year to serve God on beaches, camps and schools.

But not everyone is able to serve on a frontline team. Some help with packing mail-outs or other administrative functions, whilst others serve on Council or Ministry Development Groups, helping to ensure that SU is well tuned to God’s leading and shaping an effective response to ministry challenges.

And then there are those important members of the Team who ensure that SU can do its work because of their faithful financial support. Every one of these is an invaluable part of the Team. Check out the following pages for more information about how you might become part of the SU Team.

Your ministry awaits! All SU team members who work with children or young people are required to complete an Application Form and have a valid working with children check. These forms can be downloaded using the links below.

Camps

Camping is a great way to do the Gospel. Often camps create the sort of environment that opens all sorts of doors for meaningful discussions about faith. On SU camps, young people and families often make incredible discoveries about God and themselves. There is no more exciting experience for ministry than being a team member at a camp. If you’d like to find out more about joining an SU Camps Team, contact Gavin Osborne at SU.
