Governance

SU Victoria is a registered Company Limited by Guarantee.  It is a registered not for profit organisation, and enjoys DGR status for schools and welfare activities.  The Board comprises 8-12 members who act as Company Directors.  They come from a wide variety of backgrounds including business, education, volunteer involvement and ex staff members.

Justin Horne

Justin attended various SU Camps and Beach Missions growing up, was a team member on the Tidal River SUFM from 1999 to 2007 (co-directing for the final 3 years) and has been on the SUVic Board since October 2009.
Justin resides in Bacchus Marsh with his lovely wife Belinda and two daughters, Mikayla and Amelia, they are part of the Holy Trinity Anglican Church community. He works for Wyndham City Council in Melbourne’s west as their Flora & Fauna Officer and supports the Hawthorn Football Club – go Hawks!”

Syd Boydell

Syd Boydell

Syd Boydell is a Physics teacher working at Scotch College, and is married to Fran (an ex-SU staffer from WA); father of Lucy Watson (a Coolamatong camper and leader) and Iain (another Coola camper). He and Fran are regulars at the Coola Year 9/10 camp in the summer. They attend St Jude’s (patron saint of lost causes and hopeless cases) in Carlton; Syd has been a member there for about 38 years. He enjoys Physics (obviously) but is addicted to outdoor activities like hiking, skiing, sailing, cycling and a spot of long slow running. He also plays a bit of recorder, electric bass and tuba.

Brian Crisp

Brian Crisp joined the Board in October 2010. Married to Gail, his connections to Scripture Union include leading Camps, experimenting with Wide Games under Ted Endacott’s tutelage and supporting Gail in her paid and volunteer roles with SU. More recently he has been enthused observing his children, Stuart and Kathryn, grow and develop whilst camping at Coolamatong. Brian works with a major consumer products manufacturing company implementing IT and business process improvements for manufacturing and distribution.

Don Naunton

The Naunton family’s association with SU extends over 40 years. They continue to be actively involved with SU Northern Victoria and have been part of beach mission teams.
Don brings governance experience to the SU Board. Currently he is Chair of Girton Grammar School Bendigo, Chair of Steer Incorporated, a Director of the North Central Catchment Management Authority and a Director of AF Gason and Sons Pty Ltd, of Ararat.
Don operates his own business as an agricultural consultant providing strategic and business advice to farmers.. He is married to Carolyn and together they have eight children Elizabeth, David, Julie, Kirrily, Michelle, Sheree, Christopher and Joshua plus 19 grandchildren.

Pam Trigg

Pam Trigg has been a Salvation Army Officer for over 35 years. Pam and her husband served in Victoria until they moved to work in Hong Kong. After her husband’s death in 1983 Pam served as the Divisional Commander in the city, western and northern suburbs of Melbourne. For six years Pam was the Editor in Chief of the Army’s national publications. In retirement she enjoys various ministry opportunities.
